Research Objective
Using renewable energy to convert C1 molecules (CO2, CH4, CO etc.) into liquid fuels is a game changing technique that makes transportation and industrial fuels independent of fossil energy, providing new solutions to greenhouse gas emission reduction and renewable energy utilization.
Aiming at this target, our group focuses on electrochemical research that bridges the fundamental surface electrocatalysis with practical pilot reactor design:
1) Developing highly sensitive spectroelectrochemical techniques like ATR-IR, SERS and DEMS for operando interfacial study of energy conversion reactions, including but not limited to fuel molecules oxidation, O2/CO2 electro-reduction;
2) Developing more efficient energy conversion devices for green electrochemical synthesis.
